The RTM (release-to-manufacturing) version of SharePoint Server 2016 was released on March 14.
The new installment of SharePoint 2016 includes new capabilities in terms of next generation of hybrid capabilities for SharePoint such as cloud hybrid search and functionalities that where only previously available in O365. One of the major changes in SharePoint 2016 is the integration of Project server. The installation bits for Project Server 2016 is now included in the SharePoint 2016 MSI. A separate installation of Project Server s no longer required as was the case in previous versions. Project Server 2016 will run as a service application in SharePoint Server 2016.
However, activating Project Server 2016 still requires a PID key. Additional information on Project server 2016 can be found here.
Also Office Web Apps Server has been renamed as Office Online Server. It installs on separate servers and can be used by SharePoint, Exchange, Skype for Business, file shares and other web sites.
